Join our team at the Guardian and be a part of a diverse and inclusive global organisation that delivers fearless, investigative journalism, and holds power to account. Our team of award-winning journalists, cutting-edge commercial professionals, and industry-leading digital experts are committed to making a difference and represent a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives. We offer a challenging and exciting environment for career development, with a focus on training, growth and fostering an inclusive culture.

We're now looking for a Digital Content Producer to join our Communications team. You'll be responsible for the coordination and creation of high quality multimedia content to enhance the communication of the Guardian's business, journalism and strategy to both internal and external audiences.

This includes supporting senior leaders with their communication needs, managing content relating to creative campaigns and events and collaborating on a variety of communication projects, bringing our communications strategy to life.

About the Role:

  • Work closely with the communication leadership team and others to plan and deliver medium and long-term content priorities for the department.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create multimedia content for the Guardian's digital and social platforms and internal channels.
  • Video content production, including filming footage, editing, motion design, adding transitions, animation, music and sound effects.
  • Audio and podcast production, including research, prepping materials, production equipment set up, recording and editing.
  • Develop and integrate custom graphics, text overlays and animations, incorporating brand elements (logos, colour palettes, typography) in engaging ways to enhance viewer experience in line with the Guardian's brand guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and enhance external communications channels, e.g. the press office site, with multimedia content. Repurpose existing content into new formats.
  • Measure the performance of digital content using analytics tools.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience working in video and audio production gained in a similarly fast-paced, creative environment.
  • Strong track record of working on creative, digital-first multimedia campaigns including videos, podcasts, social media and website updates.
  • A passion for the Guardian's mission, a demonstrable interest in current affairs and the media industry as a whole.
  • Technical proficiency with relevant editing software (e.g. Adobe Suite, Canva, etc.)
  • Demonstrated understanding of what drives content success on various platforms, including expertise in native platform-optimised content
  • Comfortable analysing digital metrics, and experience optimising content based on this data.

We value and respect all differences (seen and unseen) in all people. We aspire to have inclusive working experiences and an environment that reflects the audience we serve, where our people have equal access to career development opportunities, their voices are heard and can contribute to our future. We actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. Many of our staff work flexibly and we will consider all requests for flexible working arrangements.
