This is a wonderful opportunity to join my client, an innovative, highly-respected Multidisciplinary Company, renowned for lending their expertise to the transport, infrastructure, and environmental landscapes. They are on the lookout for an experienced, enthusiastic Hydraulic Modeller, willing to take on a variety of projects alongside a growing team of experts, based near the beautiful, conveniently-located town of Reading.

Responsibilities for the role of Hydraulic Modeller Developer include:
- Creating models using software packages such as Flood Modeller Pro and Tuflow
- Authoring Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), Flood Consequence Assessments, Drainage Strategies, etc.
- Producing Nutrient Neutrality Assessments, hydrological assessments, natural flood management, re-wilding, and wetland management projects
- Supporting colleagues, generating technical reports based on data that has been collated collaboratively
- Liaising closely with clients and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors
Required skills and experience for the role of Hydraulic Modeller include:
- A Degree in Hydrology or Civil Engineering (or a similar, relevant field)
- Experience of working in a hydraulic modelling/flood risk role, within a UK-based consultancy
- Excellent working knowledge of relevant software systems (including Flood Modeller Pro and Tuflow)
- A keen interest in hydrology, including experience of having worked on hydrological projects for residential and commercial projects
- Demonstrable understanding of all aspects of flood risk and drainage, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
- Experience of working closely with a range of clients and other stakeholders
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Keen interest in data interpretation and manipulation, particularly when applied to report-writing
- Hold a valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Hydraulic Modeller include:
- Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding region
- A keen interest in climate change and its effects on water-based environments
