Finishing Operative

As a Finishing Operative in the paint shop, you will be responsible for the final stages of the painting process, ensuring each product meets high standards of quality and appearance. This role demands a keen attention to detail and exceptional manual dexterity to achieve flawless finishes.

As a Finishing Operative you will have the below duties:

• Quality Inspection: Carefully inspecting painted products for defects such as drips, scratches, and inconsistencies in color or texture.

• Detail Finishing: Performing touch-ups, buffing, and polishing to achieve a perfect finish.

• Surface Perfection: Sanding and smoothing surfaces to ensure uniformity and a high-quality appearance.

• Precision Work: Applying decals, labels, or protective coatings with precision and accuracy.

• Record Keeping: Documenting completed work and reporting any issues or defects to the supervisor.

• Tool Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining finishing tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

• Team Collaboration: Working closely with other team members to meet production targets and maintain workflow efficiency.

• Safety Compliance: Following all safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

The successful Finishing Operative will have the below skills and experience:

• Experience: Previous experience in a finishing role within a paint shop or manufacturing environment is preferred.

• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to identify and correct minor imperfections.

• Manual Dexterity: Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for precise finishing tasks.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive movements, and handle small tools and components.

• Knowledge: Familiarity with polishing, buffing techniques, and finishing tools is an advantage.

• Team Player: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

As a Finishing Operative you will receive the following benefits:

• An early finish on Fridays, or a compressed four day working week (whereby Friday can then be worked as O/T).
• O/T is payable at 1.5 in the week, x 2 on Sundays
