Finance Analyst

A media company in London is looking for a Finance Analyst to join their team on a 5-month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Finance Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in analysing financial data, preparing reports, and delivering actionable insights. Your responsibilities will include:
Financial Analysis and Reporting:

• Analyse financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability trends.
• Prepare detailed financial models to support business forecasting and decision-making.
• Generate accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
• Develop and maintain financial forecasts to assess future performance and risks.
• Provide variance analysis to explain differences between actual results and forecasts.

Strategic Insights:

• Evaluate business opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and investment proposals.
• Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend strategies to improve financial outcomes.
• Conduct market research to benchmark financial performance against industry standards.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and marketing, to align financial goals with business strategies.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior management in a clear and concise manner.

Compliance and Process Improvement:

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and internal controls.
• Support the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in a finance or analytical role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
• Familiarity with financial software tools (e.g., SAP Power BI).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (preferred but not essential).
