About the Music Technician opportunity in Ealing

As the school's Music Technician, you will be central to the day-to-day success of the Music Department. You will provide expert technical support for music lessons, rehearsals, recordings, and live performances, ensuring all equipment and systems operate smoothly.

You will also play a key role in supporting concerts, productions, assemblies, and large-scale school events, acting as the department's go-to specialist for sound, audio equipment, and music technology.

Key Responsibilities - Music Technician (Ealing)

• Maintain, set up, test, and troubleshoot music and sound equipment, including PA systems, microphones, mixing desks, keyboards, and recording hardware.
• Provide live sound engineering support for performances, productions, and whole-school events.
• Support the use of music technology and recording software within lessons and extracurricular activities.
• Manage and coordinate peripatetic (peri) music lessons, including scheduling, communication, and organisation.
• Liaise with teaching staff, students, visiting music teachers and parents to ensure smooth departmental operations.
• Oversee instrument care, storage, inventory, and maintenance, ensuring all equipment is logged and ready for use.
• Handle administrative tasks, including invoicing and documentation related to peripatetic music provision. Training will provided.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures relating to equipment and performance spaces.

Person Specification - Music Technician (Ealing)

• Previous experience as a Music Technician, Sound Technician, or Audio Engineer in a school or professional environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of audio systems, live sound mixing, and music technology.
• Excellent organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a busy school environment with staff and young people.
