Learning Support Assistant - Immediate Start
Location: Secondary School, Greenwich
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (until the end of the academic year)
Salary: Dependent on experience
A mainstream secondary school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time, long-term position, offering the opportunity to support students in their learning and development, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional help
- Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and differentiated learning strategies
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
- Encourage students' confidence, independence, and social development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure student progress
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or support capacity
- A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Experience with SEND is desired/required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
