The Role
The purpose of a SHEQ Manager is to support key stakeholders (our customers) and to achieve the highest levels of performance. A key member of the SHEQ team, working closely with the Head of SHEQ, project teams and our supply chain partners to give high quality SHEQ support.
- Identify and support teams through any competence gaps.
- Provide high levels of SHEQ support to assigned projects.
- Identify and escalate any resource issues that could create risk for the projects you support.
- Support implementation and embedment of the SHEQ goal and strategy.
- Contribute to work winning activity when required.
- Influence and support project teams to lead and engage in SHEQ and deliver the Maylim way.
- Promote and help create a positive SHEQ reporting culture.
- Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and drive SHEQ performance.
- Support project compliance with statutory and Maylim requirements.
- Monitor and drive supply chain SHEQ performance.
- Identify and escalate / communicate areas for improvement to the Contracts Manager and Head of SHEQ to support continuous improvement.
- Lead incident management for the projects you support and as required by the wider business. Focus on identifying root cause analysis and how to prevent incidents from happening again
The Requirements
- Completed or in progress with NEBOSH qualification or NVQ level 5 / 6 in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Member of IOSH working towards Chartership
- A proactive approach to your own growth and development.
- A strong ability to communicate and influence.
- A good understanding of quality assurance and environmental legislation.
