Job Summary: We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team within the renewables sector. This role is pivotal in assessing and estimating the resources, time, and costs involved in the completion of projects related to clean energy, including technologies such as biomass, biogas, hydrogen, and CCUS. The successful candidate will collaborate with project managers, clients, and internal teams to ensure job requirements are clearly defined and achievable within the set budget and timeline.
Key Responsibilities: - Review project specifications and requirements to determine the necessary resources, time, and budget.
- Work closely with project managers, stakeholders, and team members to gather the required information and clarify project details.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including labour, material, and equipment needs.
- Evaluate project scope and suggest adjustments to ensure alignment with available resources and budget.
- Utilize specialized software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Procore, Buildertrend) to create cost estimates and job breakdowns.
- Assess risks and challenges related to job execution and propose appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Maintain a well-organized database of past estimates for future reference and comparison.
- Track and monitor job progress, comparing actual performance to estimated costs and timelines.
- Assist in the development of project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and milestones.
Requirements: - Proven experience as an Estimator, Project Manager, or in a similar role within the renewables or energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of job scope analysis, cost estimation, and resource management.
- Proficiency with estimating software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Procore, Buildertrend).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to analyze data and foresee potential challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Certification in estimating or project management (e.g., AACE, PMP).
- Knowledge of industry-specific standards and regulations.
- Experience with budget tracking and financial forecasting.
- ASPEN experience is highly advantageous.
Working Conditions: - Full-time position.
- Occasional travel to job sites may be required.
- Work environment involves a mix of office-based tasks and on-site visits.
