Designer and manufacturer of cutting edge electro-mechanical sub systems that are used in high reliability applications across the space, aerospace, defence and oil & gas sectors are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer

Info about what the Mechanical Design Engineer role entails

Mechanical design role, full design lifecycle from the requirements, to prototype to production working on cutting edge, customer facing projects covering RF and optical systems for defence, aerospace and industrial clients.

You will run thermal simulations and designing enclosures for PCBs and complex electronics so that the heat dissipates effectively.

Essential Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer

• Mechanical design / mechanical engineering / technical science related qualification
• Mechanical design of Electronics / electromechanical packaging / casing / enclosures
• You will be able to take a PCB designs and run thermal simulations and design the cold plates.
• Some experience using the thermal tool on CAD packages like Creo, Solidworks etc
• Able to secure SC security clearance
• Willing to be on site in the office for 3 days per week

Desirable Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer

• 2D & 3D CAD skills with Creo but Solid Works, Solid Edge or Inventor are all OK
• Aerospace or Defence industry experience
• Analysis for stress and vibration - able to use the tools to analyse the effects of putting weight on chassis etc
• Design experience with Aluminium
