Location: All-Through SEN School Catering for PMLD, Severe Learning Difficulties, Physical Disabilities, and Complex Medical Needs
Shifts: Monday - Thursday, 12:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

It is essential you have access to a vehicle due to the school's remote location which cannot be accessed by public transport.

We are hiring for a dedicated all-through SEN school that provides a nurturing and supportive environment for children and young adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and complex medical needs. Role Overview:
We are seeking a Student Support Assistant to join our dedicated team in a temp-to-perm role. This role will support students with a range of physical, learning, and medical needs, ensuring that they receive the best possible care, education, and personal support throughout their school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with PMLD, severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and complex medical needs.
• Assist with personal care routines, including feeding, toileting, dressing, and moving/handling.
• Support students in accessing learning activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create and implement tailored learning and care plans.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment to promote students' development and engagement.
• Be proactive in responding to the medical needs of students, following care plans and protocols.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience in a support or care role, particularly within an SEN or healthcare setting, is highly desirable.
• Personal care experience is essential (supporting students with feeding, toileting, and other personal needs).
• A compassionate and patient approach with the ability to build trust with students and their families.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
