General Manager Overview

Are you ready to lead at the highest level of hospitality excellence?

This isn't just another management role - this is your opportunity to shape one of London's most dynamic, fast-paced event venues into a benchmark of world-class service.

Every day, thousands of guests arrive expecting unforgettable experiences - and it's your mission to ensure they get exactly that. From grand exhibitions and glittering galas to high-energy conferences and bespoke VIP receptions, you'll be at the heart of it all - driving excellence, igniting team spirit, and achieving commercial success through passion, precision, and performance.

Your Mission:

You'll be the driving force behind a high-performing hospitality team - setting the bar for service, food quality, and guest experience. You'll create an environment where people don't just work - they grow, achieve, and take pride in being part of something exceptional.

This role demands energy, strategic thinking, and a relentless commitment to delivering outstanding results. You'll combine hands-on leadership with commercial acumen to deliver consistent excellence across cafés, events, and large-scale dining experiences.

What your first year will look like:

  • Inspire Excellence: Raise service standards, identify development opportunities, and mentor your team to perform at their absolute best.
  • Build Influence: Strengthen relationships with key clients and stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and exceptional delivery at every touchpoint.
  • Drive Innovation: Launch at least one new food or service concept within your first six months - setting a new standard for creativity and guest engagement.
  • Optimise Performance: Review efficiencies, introduce smart systems, and lead positive change with sensitivity and strength.
  • Own the Numbers: Deliver your P&L within 1-2% of budget through sharp commercial insight and disciplined cost control.
Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and empower a high-performing team that thrives under your leadership.
  • Create a culture of excellence, accountability, and joy - because people perform best when they love what they do.
  • Host regular team sessions that energise, align, and drive commitment to shared goals.
  • Oversee operations across catering, hospitality, and event services - ensuring every guest leaves impressed.
  • Standardise procedures for consistency, quality, and speed.
  • Support the delivery of major exhibitions and VIP events with seamless precision.
  • Take full ownership of your P&L - maximising profitability through smart planning and disciplined execution.
  • Maintain strong cost controls on labour, food, and consumables.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and strategic insights to inform growth.
  • Work with culinary and creative teams to develop new service ideas that surprise and delight.
  • Stay ahead of trends and use feedback to fuel improvement.
  • Embed sustainable practices into daily operations.
  • Maintain rigorous standards across food safety, health & safety, and licensing.
  • Keep documentation, training, and audits up to date - always ready, always compliant.
  • Act swiftly and decisively to manage risk and ensure safety.
What You'll Bring (Experience Needed)
  • Proven success leading large, fast-paced hospitality or event operations.
  • A track record of building high-performing teams and delivering results across multiple service areas.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • In-depth operational and food safety knowledge.
Who You Are

You're an inspirer. A strategist. A leader who builds leaders.

You bring energy, resilience, and presence - the kind that motivates teams and wins client trust. You thrive under pressure, find solutions where others see challenges, and never stop striving for better.

You don't just manage. You transform.

This is your chance to take ownership of a truly iconic venue - to lead a team, grow a business, and set new standards for hospitality excellence. If you're ready to step up, take control, and make an impact that lasts - we want to hear from you.
