About the RoleAre you an experienced safeguarding professional with a passion for protecting children and driving high standards? We are looking for a Safeguarding Manager to join our Recruitment & Supply Practice on a maternity cover basis, acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) across Teaching Personnel and Protocol Education.This is a pivotal role where you will build on an established safeguarding framework, ensuring high-quality, consistent practice across the organisation while managing complex cases and maintaining compliance with statutory requirements.As Safeguarding Manager, you will take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection (including online safety) across the business. You will work both strategically and operationally to ensure existing safeguarding processes are embedded, consistently applied, and maintained to a high standard.Key ResponsibilitiesSafeguarding Framework & Policy Maintain and oversee established safeguarding policies and procedures Ensure continued compliance with statutory guidance including Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children Promote consistent application of safeguarding practices across the organisationAllegations & Case Management Act as the key decision-maker on safeguarding concerns and allegations Manage complex cases, including escalation to Local Authorities, Police, and other agencies Oversee investigations and ensure clear, consistent outcomesData, Reporting & Insight Produce safeguarding reports for senior stakeholders Monitor data and trends to ensure risks are identified and appropriately managed Maintain accurate records and ensure reporting processes are followed consistentlyTraining & Development Deliver safeguarding training to staff and educators Support onboarding sessions and ongoing learning activity Provide advice and guidance to colleagues on safeguarding mattersStakeholder Engagement Work closely with internal teams including HR, Compliance, Vetting, and L&D Maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, including Local Authorities and regulatory bodiesContinuous Improvement Ensure safeguarding processes are followed consistently across the organisation Support colleagues to maintain high standards in safeguarding practice Contribute to a culture where safeguarding is understood, prioritised, and embedded

About You

Strong safeguarding experience or is passionate about child protection, ideally within education or recruitment sector Knowledge of UK safeguarding legislation and guidance Is confident managing complex safeguarding cases and liaising with external agencies Has excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, confident, and sensitive guidance to a range of internal and external stakeholders Has strong attention to detail and a focus on consistency and quality Can build credibility and provide clear, practical advice to stakeholders Is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive environments
