Social Worker - Assessment pod - Children's Social Care - Milton Keynes Council

Our client, Milton Keynes Council, is seeking an agency social worker for its Assessment team.

This is a part-time role (3 days per week Weds - Fri).

And the pay rate is £38 umbrella.

The role will involve the following:

• Assessment pod (part time - 3 days a week)
• The assessment pods complete the Child and Family Assessments under s.17 of the Children Act 1989
• Undertake single and joint enquiries under s.47 of the Children Act 1989.
• Currently, we have three pods, which rotate on a weekly basis.
• Each pod has a designated Team Manager and between five and six Social Workers, with at least one senior practitioner in each pod.
• Working hours: Wednesday 9am to 5:30pm Thursday 9am to 5:30pm Friday 9am to 5pm
• We are based in the centre of Milton Keynes at Civic, 1 Saxon Gate East, MK9 3EJ
• All social workers must be in the office for their first four weeks, to support with their induction and settling into the team.
• Once the induction period is completed, Social Workers will have the option of working remotely on week one and three of their rota

Requirements of the role:

• Qualified Social Worker
• Fully Social Work England registered
• 3 years post-qualified experience in employment of a local authority (DFE rules)
• Must have experience in an assessment / MASH type setting within children's social care
