What you'll be doing
Do you want to be a part of the team that protects history for generations to come?
We are looking for a Technician to join the UK Parliament's Heritage Collections Team.
In this hands-on role, you'll play a key part in relocating and consolidating the nation's Parliamentary heritage collections. You'll support the Lead Storage Technician to prepare objects for safe transport, working closely with contractors during packing, decant, moves, and re-stowage. In this role, you will also install collections in high-profile locations on the Parliamentary Estate.
You'll handle a wide range of historic items, including artworks, furniture and decorative arts, applying best practice at every stage, and provide advice on packing and handling techniques to ensure their integrity. Alongside the physical work, you'll use software such as spreadsheets and the Collections Management System to maintain accurate location data and keep the process running smoothly. This is essential work that preserves our heritage for future generations, and you'll be at the heart of making it happen.
