SEND Teaching Assistant - Job Type: Temporary (with potential for extension)

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a new Year 4 student starting on 7th July. This role requires a compassionate individual who can offer stability and support, helping the student transition smoothly into our school environment.
Day-to-day of the role: - Provide consistent and secure support to the student, ensuring they feel safe and supported throughout the school day.
- Assist the student in initiating tasks and provide the necessary support to help them continue independently.
- Address and manage episodes of dysregulation and anxiety, particularly in new situations, ensuring the student feels understood and not singled out.
- Facilitate regular movement breaks to help the student manage anxiety and remain focused.
- Support the student academically, helping bridge any gaps and enhance their learning experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant or similar role, particularly in a primary school setting.
- Understanding of the emotional and educational needs of children with similar profiles.
- Ability to provide stability, build trust, and foster a positive learning environment.
- Skilled in managing challenging behaviours and supporting children with anxiety.
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
