EHC Co-ordinator

Rate: £300 per day (Inside IR35, via umbrella)

Duration: 3 months initially, with potential for extension

Working Pattern: Hybrid

Our client is seeking an experienced EHC Co-Ordinator to support Section B, F and I mediation activity for school-aged children. This role will be critical in strengthening capacity to manage increasing demand and ensure timely, high-quality engagement with families throughout the mediation process.

The successful candidate will work closely with families, education professionals and internal teams to support effective mediation outcomes and ensure agreed actions are implemented promptly and consistently.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing for mediation meetings, including reviewing EHC Plans, case history and the Local Authority position

• Liaising with families and professionals ahead of mediation to clarify issues in dispute

• Attending and leading mediation meetings with families, ensuring a clear and professional representation of the Local Authority

• Recording outcomes and agreed actions following mediation meetings

• Working closely with casework teams to ensure agreed amendments and actions are progressed promptly

• Supporting consistency in Local Authority responses and sharing learning across mediation cases

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience working within SEND and the Education, Health and Care Plan process

• Strong understanding of EHCP legislation and statutory requirements, particularly relating to Sections B, F and I

• Experience preparing for and attending mediation meetings or resolving disputes within a SEND environment

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with families and professionals

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload within statutory timescales

• Experience working within a Local Authority environment is desirable
