Working Hours: 37 Hours Per Week, 08:00 - 16:00
Job Purpose:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Repairs Supervisor to join our in-house Direct Labour Organisation (DLO), delivering responsive repairs and voids services across our housing stock in the London Borough of Sutton.
As Supervisor, you will lead a team of skilled trades operatives, ensuring high standards of service delivery, performance, and resident satisfaction. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of your team, with a strong focus on health and safety, quality assurance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support a team of operatives delivering responsive repairs and voids work across the stock.
- Ensure health and safety compliance is maintained at all times, including safe systems of work, use of PPE, and risk assessments.
- Conduct regular Work in Progress (WIP) inspections, van checks, and stock checks to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Drive team performance by setting clear expectations, monitoring output, and addressing issues proactively.
- Carry out 1:1 meetings, reviews, and performance appraisals with operatives to support development and maintain accountability.
- Ensure operatives are working effectively and residents are receiving a high-quality service.
- Monitors and reports on productivity, attendance, and quality of work.
- Providede technical advice, problem-solving support, and escalated issues where necessary.
- Work closely with planners, schedulers, and the wider repairs management team to ensure smooth and effective service delivery.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within responsive repairs or property maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of housing repairs, voids processes, and building trades.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to housing maintenance.
- Ability to manage workloads, plan resources, and motivate staff.
- Competence in using IT systems for job management, reporting, and team communication.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
