Salary Range: £85 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)

A specialist school in Wandsworth is seeking a full-time Hearing and Visual Impairment Teaching Assistant (TA) to support students with hearing and visual impairments. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to help students overcome barriers to learning in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Hearing and Visual Impairment Teaching Assistant (TA) Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist support to students with hearing and visual impairments.
• Assist with classroom activities, adapting materials to meet individual needs.
• Use British Sign Language (BSL) or Makaton (if applicable) to aid communication.
• Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement tailored learning strategies.
• Support students' social, emotional, and academic development.
• Encourage independence and confidence in a nurturing setting.

Hearing and Visual Impairment Teaching Assistant (TA) Requirements:

• Experience working with students with hearing and/or visual impairments (preferred).
• Knowledge of BSL, Makaton, or Braille (desirable but not essential).
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to learning support.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for making a difference in the lives of students with additional needs.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
