JRS Associates have partnered with a leading engineering company in Hayes to recruit a skilled Workshop Engineer.
This exciting opportunity involves working within a high-performing team to maintain, repair, and overhaul a wide range of supported products, including engines, transmissions, and axles. If you have a passion for hands-on mechanical work and high-quality service, this is the role for you!
The Package:
- Salary: £34,000 to £36,000 per annum
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 4:45pm

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform the safe disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly of components, including engines, transmissions, axles, and transfer cases
- Ensure testing and evaluation of completed units to guarantee reliability and customer satisfaction
- Maintain high standards of workmanship adhering to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 regulations
- Participate in training new engineers and apprentices, promoting high standards of work and good practice
- Collaborate with the Parts team to ensure accurate part identification and ordering
- Achieve KPIs related to repair times, technical data collection, and operational targets
- Provide suggestions to improve operational efficiency and maintain excellent time management
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a mechanical and engineering environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills, particularly with large diesel engines and transmissions
- Proficiency with tooling and diagnostic equipment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- High attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driving license
