L3 Network Engineer

A leading global IT services and solutions provider, supporting public and private sector clients with cutting-edge technology and infrastructure are seeking a skilled and experienced L3 Network Engineer to provide high-level support for LAN and WAN infrastructure across secure environments. This role involves managing complex incidents, implementing network changes, and supporting live systems escalated from 1st and 2nd line teams.

This is a contract position initially for 6-months with likelihood for extension, the role has a daily rate of £450 per day via an Umbrella company (Inside IR35).

The role will be based fully onsite at the Portsmouth office due to the nature of the project and the working hours will be 8am to 4pm each day.

The successful candidate will either need to be DV Cleared or have current SC clearance with a desire to undergo DV Clearance should you be offered the role. The successful candidate will need to be a sole British national.

• Provide 3rd line support for LAN and WAN services
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Perform IOS and firmware upgrades
• Monitor and manage network incidents and changes
• Update design documentation to reflect network changes
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure service continuity
• Ensure compliance with security and operational standards

• Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies
• ASA and Firepower firewall expertise
• Knowledge of multi-security tier and multi-tenant environments
• Familiarity with VMWare NSX Firewall and SDWAN
• Experience with NGNIX and Linux
• Ability to assess the impact of network changes and maintain system integrity
