Job Description

A well-established consultancy is seeking an experienced Principal Technician to join its London office as part of a growing technical team. This role sits within a developing residential and private sector delivery function, supporting the expansion of a new sub-team while working alongside existing teams.

The position is focused on the production and coordination of detailed technical drawings and models for housebuilding and residential developments, with a strong emphasis on drainage design. You will take a senior, hands-on role using Site3D, AutoCAD, and Causeway Flow, ensuring high-quality technical output across multiple projects.

As a Principal Technician, you will provide technical leadership within the team, supporting junior technicians, coordinating drawing packages, and contributing to best practice standards. The role requires strong experience in residential infrastructure, private sector developments, and drainage systems, with the ability to work collaboratively within a growing London-based team.

Key Skills & Experience

• Circa 15 years' experience is ideal for the Principal Technician role
• Strong background in housebuilding, residential, and private sector projects
• Extensive experience in drainage design and technical coordination
• Advanced user of Site3D, AutoCAD, and Causeway Flow
• Experience producing detailed technical drawings and models
• Able to attend the London office at least two days per week

About You

• Proven experience as a Principal Technician or Senior Technician, ideally with circa 15 years' experience
• Strong background working on housebuilding, residential, and private sector developments
• Extensive experience producing technical drawings and models for drainage and infrastructure works
• Advanced user of AutoCAD, Site3D, and Causeway Flow
• Confident in coordinating and checking technical output across multiple projects
• Comfortable providing technical guidance and support to junior technicians
• Experience working within a UK consultancy environment
• Able to attend the London office at least two days per week
