We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Primary School SEN TA (Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant) to join our supportive team in a mainstream school located in Plumstead. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with diverse educational needs to achieve their full potential.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional support.
- Facilitate small group sessions and one-on-one support to help students meet their educational goals.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents to help adapt learning approaches as needed.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the setup of the learning environment to meet the specific needs of students.
- Support the teacher in managing classroom behavior and promoting a positive learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role within a primary school setting.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs support are preferred.
