Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a nurturing and inclusive environment? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist education team in Watford.
About the Role:- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, and PMLD.
- Support pupils' learning, communication, and social development through structured activities and sensory-based approaches.
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and feeding when required.
- Promote independence, confidence, and engagement in the classroom.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver tailored learning programmes.
- Help create a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment for all pupils.
About You:- Experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school or care setting.
- Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about supporting individual learning needs.
- Confident in managing challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
- Willing to support with personal care and medical needs where necessary.
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or sensory strategies is desirable (training can be provided).
- A relevant qualification such as Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning or Health & Social Care is an advantage.
