About this client/child: Paul, 6, lives in Chelsea, London, with his mum, dad, and older sister, Sophie, 10. He is an energetic and active child who loves bouncing on his trampoline, swimming, and spending time outdoors. At home he enjoys books, music, and films. Sophie is creative and enjoys arts and crafts, drawing, and painting. Paul is autistic and non-verbal. At times, he may display challenging behaviors when feeling dysregulated. He attends a specialist SEN school that follows ABA principles and receives both speech and language therapy (SALT) and occupational therapy (OT) as part of his education. To support his communication, Paul uses an AAC device (with Proloquo Software) on his iPad. He will need assistance to use it effectively to express his wants and needs.
Overview of role: This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced female candidate with a background in supporting nonverbal children on the autistic spectrum. The role offers the chance to bring your skills and expertise to assist Paul in his ongoing development while creating meaningful and engaging experiences for both Paul and Sophie. Weekends are a fantastic time for the children to enjoy activities they love. Some weekends will be spent in London, where a variety of experiences await, including swimming lessons, trampoline parks, and family outings to local playgrounds and parks. During the warmer months, the family spends more time at their home in Kent, where outdoor activities take centre stage. A confident swimmer is essential, as the family have a private pool in Canterbury. For convenience, on Saturdays, the family offers optional overnight accommodation: in London, a private room at the top of the family home, and in Canterbury, an entire private floor with a bedroom and bathroom. This is a collaborative, shared-care role, with the family actively involved in weekend activities. At times, the SEN Nanny will have sole charge of one child, while at other times, the role will involve shared experiences, such as family outings to the park. The family is seeking a long-term commitment of at least two years, as consistency is crucial for Paul s emotional regulation and development. This position follows a rotating schedule three consecutive weekends on duty, followed by one weekend off.

What s great about this job: This role offers fantastic rates of pay, as well as long term security. The family s strong commitment to teamwork creates an environment which is both fulfilling and enjoyable. Plus, supporting Paul and Sophie on weekends will be an exceptionally rewarding experience.
