Senior Developer (Node.js)

Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Senior Developer (Node.js) for a 24 Month contract. Remote based with occasional travel to London OR Edinburgh.

Purpose of the Role:

As the Senior Developer (Node.js) you will work autonomously within a team to take ownership of product features and develop them from concept to release, and maintain them into the future. The project is to upgrade the banking licenses to FCFS.

As a Senior Developer (Node.js) you will be responsible for:

• Building, Testing, Shipping and maintaining high quality product features.
• Writing clear, clean code within the guidelines provided.
• Working with and improving robust deployment and testing processes.
• Maintaining a high standard / expert knowledge with a given Stack / Product.
• Training and mentoring other squad members.
• Sharing knowledge with colleagues and championing process or techniques.
• Ensuring that best practice code standards and processes are maintained and improved.
• BAU implementation and management, to ensure areas of ownership are maintained and optimised.

What we require from the candidate:

• NodeJS (ExpressJS).
• Typescript + JavaScript.
• Development of Infrastructure as a Code (ideally AWS CDK or CloudFormation).
• AWS ECS, SNS, SQS, XRAY, Lambda, DynamoDB.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL / T-SQL / Presto).
• REACT (+ state management aka Redux or similar).
• Solid knowledge of architectural patterns and coding principle.
