Job Title: HV Design Engineer

Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in Surrey

Salary: Up to £50,000

About the Role

We're looking for a HV Design Engineer to support the design and adoption of LV and HV electricity networks, with a particular focus on distributed generation and grid connections. You'll work closely with customers, developers, DNOs and internal teams to deliver safe, compliant and efficient network solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and assess LV/HV electricity networks.
  • Carry out network impact studies including voltage rise, ELI, thermal loading and fault level assessments.
  • Support generation and grid connection applications.
  • Liaise with DNOs, ICPs, developers and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with G99, G100 and industry standards.
  • Manage technical submissions and connection approvals.
  • Support project delivery and maintain accurate project records.

Requirements

Essential

  • Experience in electricity network design (LV/HV).
  • Knowledge of distributed generation and grid connections.
  • Experience using WinDebut, IPSA, VisNet or similar software.
  • Understanding of G99/G100 requirements.
  • Ability to perform network studies and technical assessments.
  • Good CAD and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Desirable

  • Experience with solar PV, wind, CHP or other renewable technologies.
  • Background within a DNO, IDNO, ICP or utility environment.
  • Exposure to EHV networks.
