Learning Support Assistant - SEN School (Lewisham)

Pay: £525 to £600 per week

A well-established specialist SEN school in Lewisham is seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join their team. Rated Good by Ofsted, the school provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils aged 4 to 16 with a range of complex needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health challenges.

With smaller class sizes and a high staff-to-pupil ratio, the school prioritises personalised learning and emotional wellbeing. Staff work closely with pupils to build trust, independence, and confidence - supported by a strong leadership team and a collaborative ethos.

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs in class and during structured activities
• Assisting with differentiated learning tasks under the guidance of the class teacher
• Providing emotional and behavioural support to promote positive engagement
• Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
• Participating in team meetings, CPD sessions, and school-wide initiatives

What we're looking for:

• Minimum Grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths
• Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in school, care, or voluntary settings)
• Understanding of autism, SEMH, and communication needs
• A valid DBS registered on the Update Service
