It's one thing for a firm to say they're supportive. It's another for them to be able to prove it.Too often support amounts to little more than telling you to get on with it. But not at this business.
At this business they can show you people throughout the company who have grown (and grown) since they've been there. They have a proud track record of nurturing talent and it will be no different with you. From the start, you'll work alongside a top Chartered Financial Planner. They'll mentor you and help sharpen your technical and client-handling skills. You'll also have other senior planners within the company who will be happy to help.Alongside that you'll also have strong admin and paraplanning support so you can focus on what matters most - your clients.
To begin with you'll inherit 20 clients with £150,000 - £250,000 invested with the firm. You'll take over from someone who is emigrating so there's an opportunity for a thorough handover and no "threat" to the book. This book will give you the basis for further new business and referrals. They're also acquisitive and have their own in-house BDM. And it's on the business development front where your skills will be sharpened most. This company go to events. Lots of them. They have many professional connections who introduce great clients on a regular basis and this is something you'll tap into. That said you don't need to be a hunter extraordinaire at this stage of your career. It's more about your attitude which will be "yes" when it comes to invites rather than "I can't think of anything worse".
It's a salaried role with a basic up to c£55,000. There's also a company bonus and a performance bonus, plus regular pay reviews. The benefits look like this: - Support with further qualifications, including study leave
- Pension and death in service benefits
- 25 days holiday (+ Bank Holidays) per annum
- The ability and support to work flexibly where appropriate
- Cycle to Work Scheme
- Private Medical Insurance (Bupa)
- All IT
- Great training
As you settle in, you'll get full flexibility to work from home or come into the office whenever suits you best. The team is close-knit and collaborative, so you'll always have backup when you need it, but there's no pressure to be there all the time.A note on the firm. They are "young" re average age compared to the industry average and you can see that in their outlook. They typically deal with clients with at least £250,000 of investable assets but it's often much higher. For example, they have a lot of clients from the worlds of sport and entertainment on their books. HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning
- 1-2 years post-CAS financial planning experience
- A positive and energetic mindset
