About the Service

Bromley's Safeguarding and Care Planning Service is committed to keeping children safe while supporting families to remain together wherever possible.

Due to the borough's geographical size, the service is split into East and West teams to ensure more responsive and localised support. Social Workers work with children who are subject to Child in Need and Child Protection Plans, supporting families to create environments where children can thrive. Where this isn't possible, appropriate safeguarding actions are taken.

Following increased demand during and post-COVID, the Council has made substantial investments by adding four new social work teams, including a specialist Court Team and a Court Case Progression Manager, to enhance legal oversight and case throughput.

Quality assurance is actively maintained via Child in Need Panels, CP Scrutiny Panels, and Assurance Panels-ensuring social workers are supported, and cases are robustly monitored.

You will be joining a structured, well-resourced service led by experienced Heads of Service, Group Managers, and Team Managers.
