Occupational Therapist - Job Type: Full-time or Part-time (minimum 3 days per week)
- Location: Office-based 60% of the time
- Office based in Basinghall Street
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team. This role involves a variety of tasks including home assessments, equipment provision, and reablement assessments. The ideal candidate will manage their own caseload and support the team in a multi-skilled, generic role. This position requires an Enhanced DBS check.
Day-to-day of the role: - Conduct home assessments and recommend necessary adaptations such as wet-rooms, stairlifts, and ramping.
- Perform manual handling assessments and provide specialist seating assessments and provisions.
- Carry out reablement assessments, support reviews of clients, and make recommendations for care package adjustments.
- Complete specifications and diagrams for major adaptations.
- Provide duty support including equipment orders for discharge and coordination with social workers and duty managers.
- Conduct welfare contacts through phone calls and home visits.
- Liaise with various teams such as NRS, IIT, ACRT, CMHT, and community rehab teams.
- Attend bi-monthly meetings focusing on business and development.
- Engage in project work and telecare assessments as required.
- Perform housing assessments and provide recommendations.
- Utilise tools such as the Mosaic database, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Conduct out-of-borough visits as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Qualified Occupational Therapist with a valid registration.
- Experience in handling a diverse caseload, ideally within a community setting.
- Proficient in using IT systems including databases and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and liaison skills to effectively coordinate with various teams.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing tasks and needs within the team.
- Enhanced DBS check is essential.
