Project Accountant - CIS / Construction

£45k Project Accountant, part of the construction / development team for a Leading Media Business

Your new roleThey are looking for a proactive Project Accountant with a hands-on approach and excellent communication skills. The role will be working closely with the Finance Director. The responsibilities include:

Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.

Lead the preparation of VAT returns and manage tax-related activities.

Perform regular bank reconciliations.

Manage the preparation of weekly payment runs and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Work with the commercial team in the provision of cash flow and contract performance data as and when required.

Take ownership of the short- and long-term cash flow forecasting for the group, including preparing associated analysis.

Support the Finance Director in the annual audit of the group.

Handling of Split VAT invoices and payments

Verifying Subcontractors for CIS

Checking Subcontractor Insurance validity

Build relationships with the stakeholders of the finance function and the wider business.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience of working within the construction sector or audit/practice is desirable but not essential.

Experience of managing external stakeholders such as banks, auditors and tax partners.

Knowledge of CIS essential
