About The Company:
A leading Tier 1 fit-out contractor with a proven track record in delivering high-end commercial and residential projects. Our team is dedicated to excellence, and we are currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Assistant Construction Manager to support a prestigious £500m Cat B fit-out project in the heart of Canary Wharf.
Role Overview:
As an Assistant Construction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of this large-scale fit-out project. You will work closely with the Senior Managers and project leadership team to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the most high-profile projects in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Manager s in the day-to-day management and coordination of site activities, ensuring work is completed to specification and within agreed timeframes.
- Support in managing the construction team, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring quality standards, health and safety regulations, and contractual obligations are met.
- Help monitor project progress and assist in maintaining an accurate project schedule, identifying any delays and proactively addressing issues.
- Assist in budget tracking and cost management, ensuring the project remains within financial parameters.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, actively promoting a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with clients, design teams, consultants, and other stakeholders, providing regular project updates and addressing any concerns.
- Assist in resolving any on-site challenges, working collaboratively to develop solutions and maintain project momentum.
Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in a construction management role, ideally with a focus on fit-out projects (Cat A or Cat B).
- Strong understanding of construction processes, health and safety, and quality control.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial fit-out projects is highly desirable.
