SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in a vibrant school located in Milton Keynes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about providing tailored educational support to students with special educational needs (SEN).
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the head teacher and SENCO.
- Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
- Work with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, as necessary to assist students.
- Prepare learning materials under the supervision of the teacher.
- Manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour.
- Undertake pupil record keeping as requested by the teacher.
- Support the teacher in managing class behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within an SEN setting.
- Understanding of the needs of students with special educational needs and the barriers they face to learning.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and foster positive relationships with staff, students, and parents.
- Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach towards student learning.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo this check).
