Application Support Level 2 (L2)

City Elite is delighted to partner with a long-term client to find a skilled Application/Production Support Specialist.

This role sits within a dynamic Production Support team that delivers critical second-tier technical support for sophisticated trading platforms. You'll be supporting both hybrid and fully electronic systems that serve clients throughout the complete trade lifecycle spanning multiple asset classes.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Act as a key technical escalation point (Level 2 support) for complex trading application issues
• Leverage your financial markets expertise across areas such as Fixed Income, Equities, FX, Derivatives, or Futures
• Maintain and optimise monitoring infrastructure for Front and Middle office technology stack
• Take ownership of production incident workflows and resolution processes
• Drive incident response protocols and coordinate resolution efforts
• Support and mentor Level 1 (L1) team members through technical challenges
• Build relationships with business users, senior leadership, and external technology partners
• Investigate complex technical problems, perform detailed analysis, and coordinate bug fixes with development teams
• Champion new system implementations by ensuring proper documentation and team preparation
• Continuously seek ways to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention
• Maintain comprehensive records of technical issues and procedural improvements

What We're Looking For:

• Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities across all levels
• L2 Support experience and hands-on experience with algorithmic trading systems, especially high-performance, low-latency platforms in equity, fixed income, or currency (FX) markets
• Proactive mindset with flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Technical proficiency with database technologies (SQL, Oracle, or Sybase)
• Competency in UNIX/Linux environments
• Scripting capabilities for process automation and system integration
• Deep understanding of FIX messaging (additional protocol knowledge beneficial)
• Familiarity with end-to-end trade processing workflows
• Solid foundation in network architecture and connectivity
