Teaching-Only Role
Charterhouse is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Physics or Chemistry to join our Science Faculty on a one-year fixed-term basis from September 2026.
This is a teaching-only role, offering a rare opportunity to focus entirely on classroom practice, with no requirement for co-curricular or boarding pastoral duties.
The successful candidate will teach Physics, Chemistry, or a combination of both, depending on their expertise. Where a candidate teaches one subject only, the role will typically involve approximately half of a full timetable. Where a candidate is able to teach both subjects, the role will normally involve a full timetable across Physics and Chemistry.
The Science Faculty
Science at Charterhouse is ambitious, well-resourced and central to the academic life of the School. With 25 teaching staff, supported by a strong team of technicians and outstanding facilities, the faculty provides a stimulating and collaborative environment for both pupils and teachers.
The individual sciences are taught separately throughout the School, with strong uptake at Sixth Form across both A Level and International Baccalaureate pathways. Practical work, intellectual curiosity and high academic standards are at the heart of teaching and learning.
