Subcontracting Assistant

National Express are recruiting an experienced Supplier Relationship Assistant to join our team in Gillingham on a Fixed Term Contract (23 months). The successful candidate will help deliver profit by hiring of transport provision for sales intended to be subcontracted working with external operators and internal commercial teams to deliver the business strategies.

What you'll do:

• Subcontracting work in a timely and cost effective manner with margin and operator quality in mind
• Communication with internal stakeholders and all other admin tasks associated with the subcontracting process
• Checking invoices from external sub contractors and forwarding for approval
• Subcontracting large events
• Basic reporting
• Obtaining prices from operators and recording these on the system
• Managing subcontracting hire requests
• Liaising with internal operations teams
• Chasing driver details for tours and other operational details
• Ensuring all hires are allocated to the appropriate vehicles, depots or subcontractors
• Approving invoices from external sub contractors
• Sharing subcontracting paperwork with operators

What you'll need:

• Previous experience working in an admin role
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of google suite applications or excel
• Previous experience working in environment of contacting customer or suppliers
• Analytical skills, the ability to turn data into action, such as interpreting pricing data to enable solid decision making about hiring pricing
