You'll be responsible for leading new product development projects - from concept through to delivery - ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll bring together technical design expertise, project management capability, and a passion for problem-solving in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, project dashboards, and progress reports.
  • Design and develop mechanical and electrical components using CATIA or similar CAD tools.
  • Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and implement corrective actions.
  • Apply "design for manufacture," "design to cost," and "design for inspection" principles.
  • Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical challenges.
  • Support R&D initiatives and contribute to new product concepts and technology roadmaps.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, and environmental standards.
  • Occasional travel to customer and supplier sites in the UK and overseas.
About You
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in project or design engineering within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical design principles.
  • Skilled in CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
  • Experienced in project progress reporting, RFQs, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and interconnect products (advantageous).
  • Flexible to occasionally travel within the UK and internationally.
What's on Offer
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work with a globally recognised engineering brand.
  • Structured career development and professional training.
  • Collaborative and innovative working environment.
