Location: Kestrel House School, Crouch End, London N8 9EA
Hours: 36 per week Monday-Friday 8.15am - 4.15pm
Salary: Up to £43,000.00 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

About the Role

As a Class Teacher at Kestrel House, you will play a central role in developing pupils' academic abilities, communication skills, social understanding, and independence. You will lead your class team with clarity, compassion, and high expectations - ensuring every pupil receives the highest quality education and care.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing and delivering engaging schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with the Kestrel House curriculum and individual pupil targets.
• Creating practical, meaningful, and contextual learning opportunities that build independence and prepare pupils for adulthood.
• Organising an inspiring and well structured learning environment with high quality resources.
• Providing strong, supportive line management to your class team.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and maintaining professional, proactive communication with parents and carers.
• Using assessment tools effectively to track, record, and celebrate pupil progress.
• Fostering a genuine love of learning and ensuring every pupil is challenged to reach their full potential.
• Supporting the wellbeing, safety, and behaviour of pupils in line with school policies.
• Demonstrating excellent practice and working collaboratively with colleagues across the school.
• Communicating clearly and professionally with all stakeholders.
• Developing your expertise in teaching autistic pupils, staying aligned with best practice and sharing knowledge with the wider team.
• Maintaining accurate records and upholding the highest standards of confidentiality.
