A leading provider of supported housing in the UK are seeking a dedicated Housing Manager responsible for delivering high-quality, customer-focused housing services. This role is crucial in ensuring that their residents receive the support they need to live independently and with dignity.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage and oversee the housing management service for a specific patch of properties, ensuring high performance in key areas such as rent arrears, lettings, and anti-social behaviour.
- Act as the first point of contact for housing applicants, ensuring efficient management of the waiting list and accurate data recording.
- Conduct property viewings, sign-ups, and new tenant visits, collaborating with the Support team to ensure tenants are well-informed of their rights and responsibilities.
- Manage rent arrears cases actively, including court attendance for repossession and eviction if necessary.
- Address reports of tenancy breaches, including anti-social behaviour, in accordance with their policies.
- Perform regular estate inspections and manage various tenancy issues such as succession and terminations.
- Engage with residents to involve them in decision-making and service improvement efforts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven housing management experience within a local authority or housing association.
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation related to tenancy enforcement, debt recovery, and anti-social behaviour.
- Familiarity with welfare benefits, particularly Housing Benefit.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with a diverse range of audiences.
- Educated to at least GCSE standard, with qualifications in Maths and English.
