South Ockendon based H W Wilson Limited, a long-established construction company / main contractor operating in and around the Essex and Kent areas, is looking to appoint an Estimator on a full-time and permanent basis. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is ambitious and diligent to join our small team and we're looking for a person that fits our company's culture and ethos who will provide excellent service standards and maintain high client satisfaction. H W Wilson handles contracts up to £2.5 million in value.
You will be working closely with the Directors of the business and, working within a team, your key role will be compiling estimates and tenders for renovation, refurbishment and new build projects primarily in schools, hospitals and for local authority clients.
Main Responsibilities/Duties include:
Meeting clients on site to determine requirements
Preparing estimates and tenders
Dealing with sub-contractor enquiries
Monitoring costs to ensure contract budgets are met
Preparing contract valuations for interim application payments including variations
Monthly reporting of contract accounts to the Directors
Managing projects
Value Engineering
About the Candidate:
Minimum of three years' experience as an Estimator / Project Manager within the construction industry
Enthusiastic and qualified
Able to work across multiple trades.
The ability to work under their own initiative
Displays the qualities of a team player
Good time management, communication and interpersonal skills
Conversant with JCT Contracts and Laxtons/Spons/Wessex pricing guides
Ability to adapt to varied tasks
Full UK driving license
Fully conversant with Microsoft office programs
A professional manner and smart appearance
