Our client, a leading health-related Charity now has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. Please note; this role offers hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week working from the central London offices.

As Employee Relations Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in providing expert ER guidance and support to staff. Reporting directly to the Head of Employee Relations, you will manage a diverse range of employee relations issues including performance management, investigations, grievances, well-being, and absence management. Your role will involve advising and coaching line managers to ensure effective resolution of people management challenges while promoting a positive, supportive workplace culture.

As Employee Relations Specialist your role will include:

  • Supporting & Coaching line managers to develop their skills in managing performance, handling difficult conversations, and conducting investigations
  • Advising line managers on resolving a range of people management issues, ensuring legal compliance and fostering a positive workplace culture
  • Managing an ER caseload, ensuring timely resolution of employee relations issues while balancing best practices and business needs
  • Contributing to employee relations policies, ensuring compliance with up-to-date employment law and best practice
  • Supporting the well-being strategy, offering advice and resources to line managers and staff
  • Supporting leaders on change management, including consultation and redeployment practices


To be considered you will require:

  • CIPD qualification (level 5) or equivalent
  • Significant experience in a specialist employee relations role, investigating and proposing solutions for a wide range of complex ER cases
  • A strong understanding of UK employment law and best practice
  • Demonstrable ability to build strong relationships and develop a reputation as a trusted advisor, through excellent communication, coaching, and advisory skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to manage complex cases
  • Experience of using analytical skills with a positive attitude to problem solving and conflict resolution
  • A commitment to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion and their practical application and integration in the work environment
