The Talent Set is delighted to be supporting the search for an Executive Director (Fundraising) for a growing international development charity, focused on children and young people.

As Executive Director you will lead the UK office, working closely with an engaged board of trustees to maximise new opportunities for fundraising and leading a small but talented team to increase the profile of the organisation.

The core focus of the role is to lead the fundraising initiatives and enable long term, sustainable growth but as the most senior member of UK staff you will also oversee the governance, financial management and operational compliance of the UK office.

Organisationally there is great ambition to further grow their reach and impact, with the UK office playing a vital role in fundraising to support this. They already work with some fantastic partners and funders, with ambitions to scale and reach new audience (largely with a focus on high value funding sources such as HNWIs, trusts, family foundations and corporate partners.

As Executive Director you will:

  • Strategically lead the fundraising and marketing campaigns of the UK office, with a focus on securing and retaining support from new audiences, predominantly focused on high value income streams.
  • Develop and implement the long term fundraising strategy, balancing new business and retention whilst enabling the uplift of existing partners/donors.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to a skilled team of reports, remaining operational where needed to ensure robust engagement and stewardship of supporters.
  • Contribute to the overall development of the charity by raising the profile and increasing brand visibility in the UK.
  • Lead the operational management of the UK office, ensuring compliance and best practice.

The role would best suit:

  • An senior fundraiser with a demonstrable background in high value fundraising across major donor, trusts, family foundations and corporate partners.
  • An individual with strong knowledge and understanding of the UK fundraising landscape, with the ability to identify new opportunities whilst deepening the engagement of existing supporters.
  • A skilled people manager, able to effectively lead and small and developing team whilst also reporting to the board and collaborating closely with international peers and offices.
  • Someone with the ability to straddle strategic and operational duties as needed, remaining close to donors/partners and effectively establishing and developing funder relationships.
