About the Role

A specialist education setting in the South London area is seeking a proactive and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This role involves working closely with teaching staff and leading small group interventions to help students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4 under the guidance of classroom teachers.
• Lead small group sessions (typically 2-3 students) focused on academic and personal development.
• Adapt learning materials and approaches to meet individual student needs.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver engaging learning activities.
• Take initiative in identifying and addressing barriers to learning.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and staff.
• Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community and uphold the organisation's values.

Person Specification

Essential:

• HLTA status or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with secondary-aged students (KS3 and KS4).
• Ability to lead learning activities and adapt to a range of needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach.

Desirable:

• Experience delivering small group interventions.
• Understanding of SEND and inclusive education practices.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel between sites or off-site provision may be required).
