Management Accountant
Hertford, Hertfordshire
40,000 - 50,000 (Depending on Experience) + Bonus + Benefits
This is fantastic opportunity for a Part Qualified or Qualified Accountant ACA, CIMA or ACCA to join this forward-thinking business that takes pride in their approach to investing in people across the group. They are seeking a highly competent and motivated Management Accountant to join their friendly, supportive and energetic finance Team, based at Head Office near Hertford.
The business is known for delivering exceptional customer service with a focus on people and as such is seeking a motivated individual with a passion for making a difference and working in a collaborative team-based environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Production of end of month management accounts to tight deadlines and variance analysis to budgets
Assisting the finance manager with the production of the KPI pack.
Creation of monthly accruals and prepayment journals, analysing nominal ledger and correction of entries as required
Monthly Balance Sheet recs, ensuring correct treatment of Accruals & Provisions and appropriately supported
Ensuring and maintaining strict financial controls throughout the company with compliance to accounting standards.
Provide Budget Holders with regular expenditure and analysis v Budget.
Analysing of sales performance alongside the operations director and finance director to identify areas of improvement in the business.
Acting as a key contact with the Auditors at year end and introducing new improved processes.
Assisting with VAT returns
Complex bank reconciliation and redesign of the process
Taking on ad hoc projects to assist the accounting team with automation and process efficiencies
Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.
What you'll need to be successful:
Part Qualified or Qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA
At Least 5 years accounting experience
Previous management accounting experience
Strong Excel Spreadsheet skills
Strong commercial awareness and experience in supporting a team.
Able to work effectively with other departments to deliver results on time.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
