The below job description will outline this position of: Marine Pilot
Typically, this person will can either be a junior (who will be trained) or an experience Marine Pilot who will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vessels along the River Thames.

Duties and responsibilities of the Marine Pilot:
- Providing expert navigational advice to vessel masters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assisting vessel masters in effective communication with crew, port personnel, and other vessels.
- Conducting navigation and bridge management duties to facilitate safe vessel movement.
- Preparing, recording, and submitting detailed passage plans.
- Coordinating tug activity to support safe berthing and unberthing operations.
- Upholding the companies reputation by ensuring safe operations and delivering excellent customer service.
Qualifications and requirements for the Marine Pilot:
- Have the right to work in the UK (eligibility verification required).
- Hold an STCW II/2 Master s Unlimited Certificate of Competency or provide evidence of Notice of Eligibility if certification will be achieved before training commencement.
- Possess a valid and unrestricted ENG1 medical certificate (or equivalent).
- Hold a full, current driving licence.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and fluency in English, particularly for VHF radio communication.
- Exhibit strong spatial awareness and the ability to assess complex navigational scenarios.
- Show confidence in decision-making and taking decisive action under pressure.
- Be a collaborative team player with proficient IT skills.
