Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Security Architect - AI Platform to design and own the end-to-end security architecture for enterprise AI platforms and future AI deployments.
The successful candidate will act as the technical authority for AI security, defining security architecture, standards, patterns and guardrails for AI and agentic AI workloads.
The role will focus on AI/LLM security, threat modelling, Zero Trust, API security, security tooling, governance and secure AI deployment. The candidate will also work closely with AI vendors and senior stakeholders to ensure AI platforms meet enterprise security requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesAI Security Architecture
- Design and own the end-to-end security architecture for enterprise AI platforms.
- Define security architecture principles, standards, patterns and guardrails for AI and agentic AI workloads.
- Lead security architecture decisions for AI deployments and integrations.
- Define and evolve the AI security target operating model.
- Ensure AI platforms are designed and deployed in accordance with enterprise security requirements.
Threat Modelling & Risk
- Lead threat modelling for AI, LLM and agentic AI workloads.
- Identify AI-specific security threats and attack vectors.
- Assess risks including:
- Prompt injection
- Model inversion
- Data poisoning
- Unauthorised data access
- Insecure AI integrations
- Define appropriate security controls and mitigation strategies.
- Apply established security architecture frameworks and methodologies.
Security Architecture & Tooling
- Define security controls for AI tool usage across the enterprise.
- Evaluate and select appropriate security technologies for AI use cases.
- Assess and design solutions involving:
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- API Gateways
- Audit Logging
- Identity and Access Management
- Security monitoring
- Apply Zero Trust, SASE and API security principles to AI architectures.
AI Vendor Security
- Engage with AI vendors regarding security controls and architecture requirements.
- Assess vendor security capabilities and contractual security requirements.
- Provide technical security input into AI vendor evaluations.
- Work with vendors to address security risks and control gaps.
Governance & Stakeholder Management
- Provide expert technical input to the AI Governance Committee.
- Present AI security architecture, risks and recommendations to senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders.
- Work closely with Security, Engineering, Architecture, Legal, Compliance and AI teams.
- Translate complex AI security risks into clear business and technical recommendations.
Required Experience & SkillsMandatory
- 8+ years of cybersecurity experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on AI/ML security or LLM deployment experience.
- Strong experience designing enterprise security architectures.
- Strong knowledge of Zero Trust architecture.
- Strong knowledge of SASE architecture.
- Strong API security architecture experience.
- Hands-on STRIDE threat modelling experience.
- Experience with security architecture frameworks such as SABSA or TOGAF.
- Strong understanding of AI-specific security risks, including:
- Prompt injection
- Model inversion
- Data poisoning
- Knowledge of GDPR, EU AI Act and NIST AI RMF.
- Strong senior stakeholder and C-suite communication skills.
- Experience with DevSecOps or secure SDLC.
Desirable
- Experience with Anthropic Claude API or comparable enterprise LLM platforms.
- CISSP certification.
- CCSP certification.
- SABSA certification.
- Experience designing security architecture for agentic AI.
- Experience evaluating AI security tooling.
- Experience working directly with AI technology vendors.
