Salary: £80 - £105 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream school in South East London supporting with their recruitment for a Lunchtime Support Staff/ Midday Supervisor. This is day-day opportunity with the possibility of extending further into long term. It is a great opportunity for someone looking to work with children, but in a way that won't impact too much on your day with working hours of 11:30-13:30 Monday to Friday, term time only. Working alongside other Midday Supervisors during the lunchtime break, you will set the tone for the children's afternoon by ensuring a safe and fun lunch time is had.

The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages and the successful applicants will:

• Provide supervision of pupils during lunch times both in the lunch hall and in the school grounds.
• Have a very good level of spoken English
• Have experience of working with children & young people
• Be able to work as part of a team and under own initiative
• Be willing to undergo training as required

The successful candidate will be required to help set-up the dining room for lunch, supervise our lunchtime staff and organise them to cover our dining hall and outdoor play areas, and ensure all children are fully supervised whilst they eat, supported in clearing away after their lunch and ensure that adequate provision of resources, including play equipment and organised games, are in place to keep children occupied during the lunchtime period.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an individual who is friendly, patient and fun loving and enjoys working with children. In addition, it is essential you have the skills and aptitude to effectively organise a team of lunchtime supervisors, supervise pupils during the midday break and to sustain the welfare and safety of pupils during this busy time. You will also be required to support the school to ensure our children behave in an exemplary way during the lunchtimes; developing their table manners, social skills and outdoor play

Our staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured that you re paying the right level of TAX and National Insurance and there s no messing around with admin charges coming out of your hard-earned cash.
