Facilities Maintenance Technician

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure the operational efficiency and safety of our facilities. This role involves routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs, as well as maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

This is a multisite role between our sites at Teynham, Sittingbourne and Linton. You will need a driving license and your own transport.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Collaborate with other departments to schedule and complete maintenance tasks.
• Manage and oversee external contractors for specialised maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment repairs.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
• Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and protocols.
• Participate in facility upgrades and renovations.
• Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Facilities Maintenance Technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
• Relevant certifications or vocational training in facilities maintenance or related fields is a plus.
• Physical ability to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects as required.
