A leading UK real estate investment and asset management platform is seeking an Investment Associate to join its growing team. The firm is a well-capitalised, privately owned business with institutional backing and a strong track record in the UK residential sector. With ambitious plans for future growth, the business combines investment discipline, development capability, and operational excellence.
Reporting to the Head of Investment Management, the Investment Associate will play a key role supporting the execution and performance of the firm's multi-family residential investment strategy and will work closely with the acquisitions, asset management, finance, and operations teams.
This is a highly analytical role that will suit someone with a strong grounding in finance or accounting, coupled with experience in investment analysis or real estate modelling. The role will provide significant exposure to institutional investors, lenders, and joint venture partners, offering a clear path for professional growth within a fast-evolving platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain financial underwriting models for new acquisition opportunities, ensuring robust analysis and sensitivity testing.
- Support the investment approval process, contributing to high-quality investment committee materials.
- Analyse financial performance of assets versus underwriting assumptions, working with finance and operations teams to understand key drivers.
- Assist in preparing fund-level performance analyses, including debt and promote structures.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of financial models and fund management tools.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual investor reporting, including fund and asset performance commentary.
- Assist with debt financing and refinancing transactions, including leverage analysis, KPI monitoring, and covenant reporting.
- Work closely with external valuers, lenders, and other advisers to support valuation and financing processes.
Candidate Profile
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modelling, ideally within real estate or investment contexts.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline.
- ACA / ACCA qualification (or part-qualified), or CFA (or studying towards).
- Experience in investment banking, private equity, fund management, or a similar analytical role.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
- Experience within Build to Rent (BtR), Private Rented Sector (PRS), or related residential asset classes (e.g. PBSA, hotels) would be beneficial but not essential
- Experience in fund-level modelling, portfolio analytics, or performance reporting.
