The role we re hiring for is a Fire Risk Assessor Validator to join our team. This role is a remotely based role with occasional travel to our Bicester office. You ll be responsible for conducting quality assurance peer reviews of fire risk assessments in compliance with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 within our portfolio of clients in accordance with BAFE SP205.

What you receive for joining us:

We re looking to offer a salary of £40,000 - £55,000 DOE. In addition, we offer 3% Pension, Cycle to work scheme, Private Health Care scheme, Death in Service (4x Salary), Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).

Here s a look at some of the things you ll be doing:

  • Conduct quality assurance peer reviews of fire risk assessments for commercial, residential, and construction sites in accordance with CDM Regulations 2015 and BAFE SP205, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Training can be provided if needed.
  • Oversee consistency and standardization of fire risk assessment reports across different assessors and projects, contributing to a uniform risk evaluation methodology.
  • Liaise with Zeta s Head of Fire to deliver quality assurance reviews, provide feedback to assessors, and highlight development needs to management.
  • Attend in-person company training sessions in Bicester and provide technical fire safety advice and practical solutions for clients.

Can you show experience in some of these areas:

  • Hold a recognized Level 3 or higher Fire Risk Assessment qualification through IFE, FPA, IFSM, or an equivalent body, with membership in IFE or IFSM. Third-party accreditation (e.g., IFE Register of Fire Risk Assessors) and a fire-related degree are desirable but not essential.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience conducting fire risk assessments for various commercial buildings and at least 1 year of experience validating fire risk assessment reports.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using technology, including app-based reporting tools, Microsoft Word, and SharePoint, with the ability to write detailed technical reports.
  • Possess strong knowledge of fire safety legislation, technical standards, active/passive fire protection systems, and best practices, with a preferred understanding of JCOP Fire Safety on Construction Sites and HSG168.
